Rocco J. Antonelli, Jr. has been involved in the Construction and Development industry for thirty years. His construction career began with summer employment for a family owned development company while attending Tufts University. He eventually became the operating and construction manager for this company, Urban Equity Development Company for the following thirteen years. He has been involved in the acquisition, planning, development, design and construction of over 100,000 square feet of commercial property currently owned by Urban Equity Development Company throughout Davis Square in Somerville, Massachusetts.

            Mr. Antonelli is founder, president and owner of Amicus Equity Development Corporation, Axis Building Corporation and Axis Design and Construction, Inc.

            Mr. Antonelli has been instrumental in the revitalization of Somerville since the early 1970's when Somerville was just one of many Blue Collar Cities surrounding Boston. His endeavors have contributed to the success of the Real Estate market in Somerville today, from Urban Equity's instrumental role in bringing the Red Line Subway extension through Davis Square to developing and constructing a variety of commercial and residential projects throughout the city including the highly acclaimed Sanctuary Lofts. These, along with many other commercial and residential projects designed and constructed under the direction of Mr. Antonelli have attributed to a well rounded career in the design and construction industry.

            Mr. Antonelli has completed construction projects for Government Agencies, the United States Postal Services, Universities, Restaurants, Health Care Institutions and Corporations as far away as Moscow, Russia. It is this experience that he brings to the Board of Directors of Metro Boston Alive.
